Nice image, Shawn. Like the way you have captured the dew on the petals. Keep up the great work.. Never be afraid to bring out the "Big Guns"" lol. You will be surprised just how easy they are to work with, but as Mitch correctly pointed out.... Get a good sturdy tripod when you doo.. Depending on the size of the Tele lens and the weight when attached to the body, you may find a medium weight semi pro would do the trick.. I use a Velbon Semi Pro which is reasonble mid range tripod, I also carry a smaller one for those times when using the standard or macro lenses. (not sure if Velbon are in the States) . There are a number of good brands avail, just make sure the legs are solid and it is designed for the weight you will be putting on it. Rambling too now so hope this helps.

That all depends on how much you want to spend. there are a lot out there but find one that is stable and can support the weight of your camera and lens I use a mono pod and a tripod when I use my long lens if I am not moving much camera on the tripod lens supported by the mono pod. Oh well I have said to much I am rambling.
Shawn Hughes replied:
No I appreciate anything you have to add.....your an amazing photographer and I value your input!

Great shot Shawn! What kind of lens are you using? v/f
Shawn Hughes replied:
Cannon Macro 18-55mm, the small one. Like I said, so new to this one, but practicing. I have larger ones, and still studying. I will be a long time before I'm comfortable to break out the "big guns"! I find it a bit intimidating! But thanks Mitch, I am enjoying the new one, miss my old one, I knew it well!
